Subject: Provincial Health Office Orders

Today the provincial government announced the province would keep the current health orders and restrictions in place for the time being. No date was set for the extension, and so we will continue under the current protocols until advised otherwise by the authorities.

For Softball BC sanctioned events and activities, that means we are in Inning One protocols for both indoor and outdoor activities. No games or scrimmages, and no adult softball activities are permitted. For further details, please refer to our Return to Bases Guidelines, https://www.softball.bc.ca/softball-bc-return-to-play-guidelines-and-appendixes/ or contact your district coordinator or UIC.

We are working diligently on updates to our return to play guidelines and direction for clubs resuming activities in 2021. We are optimistic that, as British Columbians continue to follow the orders in place, restrictions will gradually ease, and we will be able to return to the ball diamonds this spring.

We keep in close communication with Softball Canada and the Western Softball Championship Association, regarding post season championships and connecting with our Provincial championship hosts so that we can plan for these events while maintaining a safe environment for all participants.

Thank you to everyone who has been and continues to work so hard to keep our members active and healthy. We will keep you updated as the situation unfolds.
