Below you will find the information Softball BC sent to the Softball Community today.  You will note that Softball BC as our PSO has determined that players living in Maple Ridge and / or Pitt Meadows may practice in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows ONLY.  You may not travel to Surrey, White Rock, Langley, Coquitlam, Mission, etc. for practice/skill development activity.  Alternately players from outside our communities will not be able to travel in to practices in Maple Ridge and / or Pitt Meadows.

The Warehouse will remain closed until December 7th and the expiry of the Provincial Health Order.  The association is currently working on a safe return to play in the Warehouse plan and we will revisit the status of the Warehouse after a further announcement by the Province leading in to December 7th.

Individual travel to attend team practices/training sessions – Under the current provincial health order, Softball BC is revising their definition for travel by coaches and/or athletes to team activities. Until midnight, December 7th, or as advised by the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), individuals may not travel outside their own community to attend team activities. Community is defined as your principal residence. For clarity, areas such as Langley and Township of Langley, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and Port Coquitlam will be considered the same community when attending team activities. The intent of the public health order is to restrict travel to remaining local. At this time, we have not received a definition on local travel for individuals, and so we have decided to remain cautious in our interpretation. If we do receive clarification from ViaSport, we will advise the membership accordingly.
