Clinic FAQs

Clinic FAQs

Q - Can house & rep players register for clinics?
Yes, ALL players within our association are eligible to register for all clinics & camps listed on the website. In fact, we encourage it!
Q - Can outside the association players register for our clinics?
Yes, Priority is given to our registered RMMSA players first, during the closed registration period (7 days from the in-person registration date). After that the clinics are open to players that are registered with Softball BC. Outside players will be charged a $25.00 premium on the initial registration cost and need to provide their Softball BC Registration number. For additional details contact our clinic coordinator via email at clinics@rmmsa.com.
Q- How do I register & pay for my clinic?
You can attend our start of the season in person registration to gain priority to the clinics. This in person registration allows you to pay for the cost in following tenders: Cash, Cheque, Debit & Credit Card. Noon, the day after the in-person registration clinic availability will be updated and on a first come first served basis. You can email the clinic director to secure the spot and the fee must be paid in arrangement with the clinic coordinator by either cheque or cash. You must ensure that the clinic is paid in full prior to the start date of the clinic.
Q- Can I cancel my daughter’s clinic?
Yes, if you are unable to attend a program due to circumstances out of your control such as a medical reason or injury (determined on a case-by-case basis by our Association and doctor's note provided), we can offer you a refund if you notify us prior to your session start date.
However, we do charge 25% cancellation fee.  The cancellation fee may be avoided if you opt for a service credit instead of a refund.
If your program has started and you can no longer continue due to circumstances out of your control such as a medical reason or injury (determined on a case-by-case basis by our Association and doctor's note provided), we can offer you a refund less the sessions attended plus a 25% cancellation fee.
The cancellation fee may be avoided if you opt for a service credit instead of a refund.
Q- Can I register and attend a clinic that has already started?
Please contact our clinic coordinator via email at clinics@rmmsa.com to find out the pro-rated amount for that particular clinic.
Q- How do other associations not charge for clinics?
Other associations can do things slightly deferent depending on their association policy. Associations can build the clinic cost into higher registration fees or rep fees. Other Associations bill the teams individually for the clinics that their players attend and then it comes out of the teams fundraising budget.
RMMSA offers 6 x 1.5 hours (9-hours) of coach’s development technical training for all Rep teams at no additional cost to teams. This needs to be organized through your head coach, the individual instructor & clinic coordinator. During those times our association instructors will work with the coaching staff on technical & tactical areas of the coach’s choice.
For House players we offer free pre-season pitching and coaching clinics. We are in the process of re-evaluating these offerings to house teams to provide additional support. -Additional details to follow in the new year.
Q- Where do the clinic registration fees go?
Based on RRMSA’s 2018-19 clinic budget the averages are (if a clinic is sold-out), 40% of the clinic registration cost is reinvested back into our Association. It encompasses: 25% is expended to new and upgraded equipment used during the clinics. 10% is reinvested towards Association Coaching Development Clinics. 5% utilized for administration costs (i.e. office supplies, payment processing, etc.) 60% of the cost goes towards instructor remunerations & development.
Q- If a clinic my daughter is interested is full or you don’t currently offer it what do I do?
Contact our Clinic Co-Ordinator as we have a cancellation list and always want to hear feedback.

"RMMSA has the best clinics! I was struggling with my batting until I met Kelly. He made all seem so simple. Now I hit like I'm in the big leagues. Thanks to the clinicians at RMMSA."
